Danielle
Meet my friend, Danielle! She was one of the first people I had met at work. Like Tiffany, we do not talk much outside of work, and it is always a challenge communicating on the run between departments. It has been wonderful getting to know her a little more with each opportunity, especially since she has been collaborating with me recently. (She was behind the scenes for Red Riding Hood.) We had been talking for awhile about collaborating on some photography project, her being an artist as well. (She wants to incorporate art therapy in the future. How awesome is that?!) Danielle had bought continuous lights to photograph her artwork, but I had other plans...
Why not use test the lights in a studio portrait session?! I have only done a couple lit session in the past and let's just say they were sketchy at best... Haha. Good photos came out of those sessions but I seriously had no clue about lighting and it was all very DIY. I am still relatively new to lighting; I usually stick with natural light. Strobes, continuous lights, and the like scare me! However, with school and finally committing to photography, this was the perfect time to step in the pool and swim, so to speak. And, man, I sure am glad I did! Also, all that boring technical information I am learning in class paid off!
Danielle, I cannot thank you enough for being willing to step in front of the camera. You are wonderful and beautiful! I really enjoy getting to know you a little more outside of work, and create some amazing photos along the way.
Here are a few more photos from our session. More to come in the next post, because she was not the only person in front of the camera!...
