Charity:Water
This entry is a far departure from what I have been sharing. I want to share something a little more personal, which is my support for any efforts to bring clean water to those who do not have access to it. Not only are many illnesses preventable by having access to clean water, but having this most basic necessity can grow education, economy, etc. Please watch this short video from Charity:Water below for a summary:
Late last year, a popular Instagramer and Charity:Water staff member, Cubby Graham, had a challenge to raise $10,000 for clean water efforts in 24 hours. If he succeeded, he would go skydiving! (You can view his challenge here.) Although he did not reach the $10,000 mark, I received an email recently informing me that my donation to his campaign was still being put to use in Cambodia!
I was so excited to know my money was not only being used, but seeing specific details about what stage the project was at, its location, and a brief overview of the area and why clean water is vital there.
The email goes beyond these screenshots, of course. I was very appreciative of this information and I cannot wait to receive the next update! It feels good knowing how my donation is being used!
Finally, I would like to share one more short video telling about Charity:Water's founder, Scott Harrison, and a little bit about himself. If you search YouTube, you can find more in-depth interviews and talks he has given, some an hour long. He is a fascinating and inspiring person, for sure!
If you feel it, please consider supporting the efforts to provide clean water. If not, at least be kind to someone today! =) Everyone needs something, whether it is clean water or just simply knowing someone cares about them. Please give to whoever and whatever you feel the need to.
