Around the same time last year, I met the Matijevich family for a quick photo shoot at Deception Pass, capturing a glimpse of their annual vacation to Whidbey Island. We have a mutual friend who originally put us in contact and I am glad she did! Frank and BethAnn Matijevich, along with their two daughters, are so sweet and a breath of fresh air; great people to be around. Well, it was that time of the year again! (You can see the photos I took of them last year here.)

As you can see, the kids were just as thrilled to have their photo taken! Well... One of them, at least. Hahaha. Despite this, BethAnn was relieved that we were able to get a good family photo with two kids who had just arrived on a sunny beach!

Adorable, right?! As the frame counter ticked away, the kids got more and more into it and seemed to forget I had a camera at all. This is when I got some fantastic candids of them playing on the beach.

Side note: If a friend offers you a free pinwheel for a prop, take it! I had no idea what I was going to use it for, and, ironically, it was the girl's favorite prop, less than a week later! Ha. Eventually, the girls made their way to the water. I am glad it was such a beautiful day in the PNW for them to fully enjoy one of the best beaches around!

What a fun photo shoot! It was difficult to narrow down the photos for this post, but I will be adding these photos, and more, from this day in a site gallery. I will keep you all updated on when that goes live.
